Latest Research - Acupuncture Treats Depression in Pregnant Women
Acupuncture releives the symptoms of depression and can be an alternative to antidepressant medication during pregnancy, a recent study published in
the journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, is the largest to date examining the effectiveness of Acupuncture to treat depression in pregnant women.
"Acupuncture that we have tested works for pregnant, depressed women," said Rachel Manber, a study author and professor at Stanford University.
The researchers randomly assigned 150 pregnant women who were suffering from clinical depression to receive Acupuncture and after eight weeks of treatment,
63 percent of participants in the acupuncture-for-depression group had experienced an improvement in their symptoms.
